Job description

Position : Wait Staff / Server / Guest Experience Ambassador - Senior Living Community

Location : Overland Park, KS

Schedule : Nights and Weekend shifts available, including weekends.

Pay Rate : $17.00 to $18.00 per hour, based on experience.

The Guest Experience Ambassador reports to the Director of Guest Experience within a Senior Living Community and is responsible for the set-up and breakdown of all meals served to residents, providing exemplary service. You will be part of a team making a difference in the lives of those we serve.

Essential Functions :

1. Serve food and beverages to residents, including preparing or serving specialty diets and dishes as required.
2. Take orders from residents for food and beverages.
3. Explain menu items, including preparation methods and ingredients.
4. Ensure residents are satisfied with all aspects of service and communicate any issues to your supervisor.
5. Check residents' diets, preferences, and dislikes to meet their needs.
6. Assist with the setup and breakdown of all scheduled meal periods.
7. Stock service areas with supplies such as coffee, food, tableware, and linens.
8. Perform cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, tidying the server station, clearing tables, and taking out trash.
9. Assist with washing dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment as needed.
10. Support culinary staff at various stations as directed.
11. Provide excellent customer service by being attentive, approachable, greeting, and thanking customers.
12. Perform other duties as assigned.

This role involves working in a kitchen environment, operating equipment such as ovens, stoves, dishwashers, and coffee machines. Employees may be exposed to heat, steam, fire, and noise.

Physical Demands :

Employees may need to sit, reach, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, and lift items up to 40 pounds. Standing for long periods and manual dexterity are required, along with auditory and visual skills, and the ability to follow written and oral instructions.

Minimum Education and Experience :

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in food service, preferably in high-end dining environments.
• Previous customer service experience demonstrating a Spirit of Hospitality.
