Northern Lakes Senior Living, located in Baxter, MN, managed by Ebenezer, seeks a Culinary Assistant to handle dining room and to-go meal service for assisted living and memory care residents. The role supports a 36-hour biweekly schedule with day/early evening shifts and alternate weekend coverage.

You will help maintain dining room cleanliness, adhere to the serving schedule, and assist with resident meal choices, dietary needs, and sanitation throughout shifts.

Qualifications

• Less than 1 year experience in food service.
• High school diploma preferred.
• Willingness to work day/early evening shifts and every other weekend.

Responsibilities

• Serves meals and ensures dining area is clean and inviting.
• Follows meal serving schedule and procedures.
• Offers resident meal choices and meets dietary needs.
• Uses proper safety and sanitation techniques.
• Follows dining room cleaning schedule and procedures.
• Follows proper dining room setup and workflow.
• Learns and assists with EMenu System and restaurant-style service.
• Ensures all dishes and utensils are washed and stored properly.
• Promotes positive resident relations and satisfaction.
• Welcomes residents and initiates conversation.
• Accommodates resident requests; handles complaints by escalating when needed.

Job Overview

Northern Lakes Senior Living has a positive and family-like culture in a beautiful setting, located at 8186 Excelsior Road in Baxter, MN (Brainerd). Our care community hosts Assisted and Memory Care services for a total of 68 units. Managed by Ebenezer we are proud of our skilled, compassionate, and good-natured team of employees. The Culinary Assistant is responsible for dining room and to-go meal service to assisted living/memory care residents.

This nutrition services schedule includes;

• 36 hours per two weeks
• day/early evening shifts: 11:30am-6:00pm
• every other weekend rotation (saturday/sunday)

Responsibilities

• Serves meals and ensures that the dining area is clean and inviting
• Follows meal serving schedule and procedures
• Offers resident meal choices and meets resident’s specific dietary needs
• Uses proper safety and sanitation techniques
• Follows dining room cleaning schedule and procedures
• Follow proper procedures for dining room set-up
• Follows proper work flow to stay on task
• Learns and becomes proficient with EMenu System and restaurant style service
• Ensures all dishes (including flatware, drinkware, etc.) are washed, sanitized, and put away before end of shift
• Promotes and encourages positive resident relations and satisfaction
• Welcomes residents and initiates conversation
• Accommodates resident requests such as requests for food substitution, change in seating, etc.
• Listens to any complaints and responds appropriately. Refers issues to Executive Director and Culinary Director as appropriate
