Job summary

The Press Club Grill in Raleigh, NC is seeking a high-energy server/bartender with excellent communication to greet guests, answer questions, upsell items, and craft cocktails and beverages. You will maintain a friendly, professional service, assist with food and drink prep, and keep the bar area clean.

Biweekly staff training and ongoing bar education are provided. Previous bartender experience is required; you must meet state age requirements to serve alcohol, be able to stand long shifts, and

Job description

We are looking for a professional, high-energy server/bartender with excellent communication skills to serve classical cocktails and exciting new beverages to our guests. The server/bartender will greet guests, learn about their preferences, answer questions, recommend menu items, and prepare and serve beverages and food. You will also upsell items, execute recipes, utilize proper equipment and ingredients, and handle basic cleaning duties. To succeed as a bartender, you should have a neat appearance and an engaging, friendly personality. You should be efficient, observant, knowledgeable, and personable.

Full Responsibilities of a Server/Bartender

• Serves patrons with food and beverages in a positive and friendly manner.
• Selecting and mixing ingredients, garnishing glasses, and serving beverages to guests
• Maintains dining ambiance with an personable and professional attitude
• Prepares the restaurant for service by setting up tables and bar
• Protects establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies.
• Helps patrons select food and beverages by suggesting courses, explaining the restaurant's specialties, identifying appropriate beverage pairings, and answering food preparation questions.
• Transmits orders to bar and kitchen by recording patrons’ choices and identifying patrons’ special dietary needs and special requests
• Serves orders by picking up and delivering patrons’ choices from bar and kitchen and delivering accompaniments and condiments
• Responds to additional patron requirements by inquiring of needs and observing dining process
• Maintains table and bar setting by removing courses as completed, replenishing utensils, refilling water glasses, and being alert to patron spills or other special needs
• Obtains revenues by issuing bills, accepting payments, and returning change or credit card and signature slip to patrons.
• Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies
• Maintaining a clean work and dining area/bar by removing trash, cleaning tables, and washing/polishing glasses, utensils, and equipment.
• Attend’s BiWeekly staff training and continuing bar education.
