The ideal candidate for this position must have excellent communication and organizational skills. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment but still demonstrate graceful movement on the restaurant floor. Successful candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability of providing proactive service and anticipating guest needs. Prior experience in a fine dining establishment is highly desired.
The role of the service attendant is to be the technical mastermind that keeps a station/section running smoothly. This requires a person to be very organized and great at prioritizing, managing all the requests of the Server and the guests. Together with the Server, the Service Attendant is responsible for having the table prepared for all wine and food coming out.
