Job summary

Wegmans Food Markets in New York City is seeking a server assistant to support the front-of-house team and help deliver an exceptional dining experience. This tipped role pays NYC minimum for tipped employees plus tips, with afternoon and evening shifts including weekends.

As a server assistant, you will liaise between kitchen and servers, assist with expediting orders, and help maintain food quality and guest satisfaction. Prior restaurant service experience is required.

Qualifications

• 6 months service experience in a restaurant or other service industry setting
• Enthusiasm for and knowledge of relevant products and services
• Customer service experience in the hospitality industry

Responsibilities

• Assist server team to ensure guest needs are met and servers can focus on interacting with guests
• Deliver dishes to guests' tables promptly while maintaining food integrity
• Maintain a positive guest experience by keeping tables clean and service attentive
• Prepare dining room and bars for service with excellent attention to detail and restock as needed
• Coordinate with front and back of house teams to provide proactive assistance
• Perform in-depth cleaning and sanitation of the restaurant facility
• Expand food and beverage knowledge by studying menu changes and attending beverage classes
• Learn about special events and general restaurant operations
