Responsibilities

• Greet guests upon arrival and assist with seating in support of Front Server
• Maintain knowledge of all menu items, daily specials, ingredients, and preparation methods
• Deliver water and beverages and ensure glasses are refilled
• Provide bread service with professional presentations
• Serve coffee and additional beverages as required
• Clear soiled tableware promptly and replace with clean pieces between courses
• Prepare tables for subsequent courses and maintain cleanliness across the meal
• Clear and reset tables after guest departure and maintain station organization
• Demonstrate outstanding service skills and adhere to service sequence standards
• Execute closing procedures and complete duties as assigned by management

Job Description

The Server Assistant provides exceptional support to the front-of-house team, ensuring seamless service delivery and guest satisfaction. This role requires comprehensive knowledge of menu offerings and a commitment to maintaining the highest service standards throughout each guest interaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly upon arrival and provide initial seating assistance, supporting the Front Server as needed
• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all menu items, daily specials, ingredients, and preparation methods to accurately answer guest inquiries
• Deliver water and beverage service throughout the meal, ensuring glasses remain filled and refreshed
• Provide bread service with professionalism, utilizing scripted presentations
• Serve coffee and additional beverages as required
• Clear soiled tableware promptly and replace with clean service pieces between courses
• Prepare tables for each subsequent course and maintain cleanliness throughout the meal, including crumb removal
• Clear and reset tables efficiently upon guest departure, maintaining station organization and floor cleanliness
• Demonstrate outstanding service skills and adherence to service sequence standards
• Execute closing procedures and complete additional duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months of food service or hospitality experience, preferably in an upscale dining environment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with guests and team members
• Comprehensive knowledge of food and beverage service standards, including proper table service techniques and service sequence
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as carrying trays, clearing tables, and moving between stations
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to maintain table cleanliness and proper setup
• Reliability and punctuality with a commitment to consistent attendance
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure under pressure
• Willingness to learn

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Server Assistant or similar support role in fine dining establishments
• Bilingual capabilities to better serve diverse guest populations
• Demonstrated ability to anticipate guest needs and provide proactive service
• Experience working in high-volume service environments
