Responsibilities

Hexagon ALI IT is seeking a motivated and skilled Server and Application Administrator to join our North America team. This individual will play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing our IT infrastructure. The position involves administering and managing virtualization environments (VMWare and Hyper-V), Windows Patch Management (WSUS), FTP solutions, hardware support, and ensuring smooth IT operations across the organization.

• Manage and administer a Hyper-V virtualization stack for production-critical machines, including VM creation, access control, performance monitoring, and cluster maintenance. Experience with DELL Unity SAN 550 is desirable.
• Administer and support systems running LINUX Ubuntu 16+ version with Apache Tomcat that serves a publicly visible website. This involves scheduling system updates with planned downtime, configuring Apache hot-fixes, testing firewall and the hosted websites.
• Install operating systems and manage hardware components in a data center environment.
• Perform disk replacements, utilize iDrac for system management, and diagnose hardware issues to minimize downtime.
• Manage the Windows Update WSUS server, ensuring it is current with Microsoft patches, coordinating patch schedules, and monitoring compliance.
• Configure, manage and monitor DELL/EMC Data Domain Backup Solution for registered systems.
• Manage, troubleshoot and configure Microsoft Teams Telephony for registered users.
• Apply strong problem-solving skills to technical issues and communicate solutions effectively.
  
  

Education / Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT or a related field.
• Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in IT support and administration roles.
• Proficiency in UNISPHERE & Hyper-V for managing a virtual infrastructure hosted on a DELL UNITY SAN.
• Proficiency in Networking, Security, Windows Server, and Microsoft technologies.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure administration, Windows Patch Management, administering virtual machines and working with network protocols.
• Experienced with administering and maintaining LINUX Ubuntu 20.04 machines.
• Familiarity with tools and technologies used in cloud platforms and virtualization environments.
• Certifications such as Hyper-V Administrator, Microsoft Azure Administrator, and knowledge of networking protocols are desirable.
