This job description is intended to be a broad description of duties. You will be expected to carry out all responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Servers are expected to provide service that is approachable, energetic, knowledgeable, and thoughtful while upholding standards of 192 at The Blake. The nature of this job requires a highly motivated, committed, and skilled individual who can work with a team in a fast-paced environment to achieve customer satisfaction.

Essential Job Responsibilities:
  1. Provide efficient, friendly, and thoughtful service at all times.
  2. Follow checklists and other guidelines for opening and closing duties.
  3. Provide recommendations and answer questions about food and drink items, including allergen and dietary information, ingredients, and preparation methods.
  4. Work with Culinary staff to ensure proper presentation of food items according to menu guides and guest tickets.
  5. Demonstrate experience in handling complaints and resolving grievances to ensure guest satisfaction.
  6. Conduct regular check-ins with guests to ensure food, beverage, and experience quality. Monitor guests to anticipate needs and provide timely service.
  7. Participate in regular and ongoing training to increase product and service knowledge.
  8. Have a comprehensive understanding of and practice responsible alcohol service.
  9. Communicate product and supply needs to appropriate management.
  10. Empty trash and recycling containers and take to proper disposal location(s).
  11. Miscellaneous tasks such as cleaning floors, stocking product, restocking glassware, rolling silverware, etc.
  12. Respond to any guest requests or issues by communicating with the appropriate staff.
  13. Accurately deliver any room service orders to designated rooms.
  14. Perform additional responsibilities, although not detailed, as requested by management at any time. Reliable attendance on all scheduled workdays.
  15. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Knowledge
  1. Must already have or be willing to complete the New Mexico Food Handlers Certification upon hire.
  2. Must already have or be willing to complete the New Mexico Alcohol Server Certification upon hire.
  3. Prior experience in a high-volume restaurant or guest service preferred, but not necessary.
  4. Working knowledge of the fundamentals of guest service.
  5. Ability to communicate in a positive and productive manner while on duty.
  6. Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays and evenings.
Work Environment:

Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment. TSVI is located in a high-altitude alpine environment. Position may require travel on uneven, snow packed, or icy terrain and may be exposed to wet, cold and/or humid conditions. Wet surfaces may exist and sharp objects may be located throughout the work area.

Physical Demands of Position Include:

Will often lift up to 10 pounds, and occasionally up to 50. 90-100% of the time will be spent standing, walking, reaching, talking, hearing, tasting and smelling. 25-50% of the time may be spent climbing/balancing, being exposed to the outdoors including winter weather conditions. Occasionally sitting less than 15% of the time.

Positions dealing with children, of safety sensitive and/or confidential nature, require driving or positions that handle cash may require a background check and MVR check. Employment is contingent upon a favorable background check and MVR check.
