Job summary

1909 Gastropub in Old Town Temecula seeks servers who are passionate about delivering an exceptional guest experience. We pride ourselves on craft cocktails, beer, wine, excellent food, and memorable service in a welcoming atmosphere.

Qualifications include at least 3 years of high-volume serving in a sit-down restaurant, fluent English, reliability, and a willingness to obtain a Responsible Beverage Service Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Create an upbeat, positive dining experience for guests.
• Assist guests with food and beverage selections and pairings.
• Record guests' choices and note dietary needs for the kitchen and bar.
• Deliver orders from bar and kitchen to tables and replenish items as needed.
• Handle guest payments and closing procedures.
• Maintain sanitation and safety standards.

SERVER RESPONSIBILITIES

• Creates an upbeat, positive and fun guest dining experience
• Helps guests select food and beverages by presenting menu; offering craft cocktails, beer, wines; suggesting courses; answering food preparation questions
• Communicates orders to bar and kitchen by recording guests’ choices; identifying guests' special dietary needs and special requests
• Keeps kitchen staff informed by noting timing of meal progression
• Serves orders by picking up and delivering guests' choices from bar and kitchen; delivering accompaniments and condiments from service bars
• Responds to additional guest requirements by inquiring of needs; observing dining process
• Maintains table setting by removing courses as completed; replenishing utensils; refilling water glasses; being alert to other special needs
• Concludes dining experience by acknowledging choice of restaurant; inviting guests to return
• Obtains revenues by totaling charges; issuing bill; accepting payment; delivering bill and payment to host person; returning change or credit card and signature slip to guests
• Protects restaurant and guests by adhering to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results, as needed
• Perform additional tasks to support overall success of restaurant

SERVER REQUIREMENTS

• MUST BE AT LEAST 18 YEARS OF AGETO APPLY
• Must be able to obtain Responsible Beverage Service Certificate
• Must have at least 3 Years of Serving Experience in a sit down restaurant
• Must be Customer Focused and Portray Customer Focused Attitude
• Must always display High Level of Respect while serving guests
• Always keeping a positive and upbeat attitude
• Works well as part of a team and on individual tasks
• Must speak fluent English; Excellent verbal communication
• Works well and efficiently under pressure
• Flexibility and willing to work shifts including nights, weekends, holidays and split shifts
• Reliability and Punctuality is a must
• Takes pride in professional appearance

Activities include, but are not limited to, walking, or standing for 6 to 8 hours at a time, reaching, stooping, lifting or carrying 25 or more pounds, carrying, talking, sitting, able to wipe down bar, tabletops, chairs, and booths; able to pick up debris from floor; able to push vacuum or mop.

PAY

• Earn a base wage of $16.90/hour + tips, with the opportunity to maximize your tips depending on your shift, volume, and performance.
• We’re a high-energy, fast-paced restaurant with a steady flow of guests—so if you bring great service and hustle, the earning potential is strong every shift.
