DEPARTMENT: 900 REPORTS TO: 900 Blue Dot / Store Supervisor
JOB SUMMARY: Serves food and drinks to Guests in the dining areas in a friendly, courteous, and efficient manner. May prepare, portion, heat, and set-up food to be served.
Now hiring for multiple permanent Part Time Server positions, preference to those with night and weekday availability!
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Presents menus, suggests courses, and answers questions regarding menu, food preparation and establishment.
- Writes orders on Guest checks.
- Relays orders to line and service bar via computer (manually if system is down).
- Serves courses on trays from line and service bar.
- Makes coffee, ladles soups, portions desserts onto plates and prepares some salads with garnish and condiments preparatory to serving.
- Checks back with Guests periodically to determine that they are satisfied or if they need something additional.
- Observes Guests to perceive when meal has been completed.
- Removes used dishes as meal progresses.
- Totals check by computer, presents to Guest and instructs where to pay.
- Clear and resets tables.
- Cleans and restocks work stations and dining areas prior to beginning shift and at end of shift.
- May be called upon to help expedite orders of co-workers.
- Performs other related duties and assignments as requested by Blue Dot or Store Supervisor.
JOB GOAL SUMMARY: To serve food and drinks in a courteous and timely manner. To help create new business and avoid Guest complaints by giving excellent service. May serve 4 to 8 tables (section size determined by Management), with an average of 2 - 5 turns per shift.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to memorize restaurant menu
- Reading required for side work and menu presentation.
- Writing skills required for manual check writing
- Computer operation skills helpful; will train.
- Verbal skills necessary to interact with Guests and co-workers.
- Requires cooperative attitude and teamwork; respect for co-workers.
- Requires ability to maintain pleasant and positive disposition.
- Requires a neat appearance and cleanliness.
- Must be able to work holidays and weekends.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Restaurant experience highly preferred, will train
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time, entirety of shift in some instances
- Must reach, bend, stoop, wipe, lift and push.
- Balances and carries trays weighing up to 40 pounds from line to dining areas from 10 to 40 times per shift.
- Ability to move quickly and efficiently throughout Restaurant.
- Hazards include, but are not limited to slipping, tripping, falls, burns and cuts.
