Nagi combines the rich tradition of an authentic Japanese izakaya, a precision sushi bar, and an intimate, craft-focused Japanese whiskey lounge. We deliver high-energy yet polished service in a sophisticated, design-forward environment.
We are seeking refined, detail-oriented, and passionate Servers to join our opening team. As a front-of-house ambassador for Nagi, you will guide guests through an elevated culinary journey—pairing izakaya small plates, pristine sushi, and rare Japanese spirits with seamless, intuitive hospitality.
Guest Experience & Storytelling: Articulate deep menu knowledge, including Japanese culinary techniques, izakaya culture, fish origin, and beverage pairings (Japanese whiskey, artisanal sake, and crafted cocktails).
Polished Table Service: Execute fine/elevated dining service standards, including proper course orchestration, table maintenance, wine/sake presentation, and precise plate placement.
Opening Operations: Participate actively in comprehensive pre-opening training, spirit tastings, menu exams, and venue setup ahead of our launch.
Section Management: Maintain control over assigned dining areas with speed, grace, and an eye for ambient detail (lighting, cleanliness, pacing).
Team Collaboration: Work seamlessly with the sushi chef team, kitchen line, floor management, and lounge bartenders to ensure flawless timing and presentation.
Experience: 2+ years of server experience in an elevated, upscale, or fine dining establishment.
Beverage & Culinary Aptitude: Base knowledge of Japanese cuisine, sushi terminology, sake classifications, and spirit profiles (specifically whiskey) is strongly preferred; a passion for continuous learning is required.
Professionalism: Impeccable personal presentation, polished communication skills, and a warm, inviting presence.
Flexibility: Availability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and attend mandatory all-hands training sessions during the 30-day runway to opening.
