Job summary

Coterie Senior Living in San Francisco, CA, is seeking an experienced Server to deliver exceptional dining experiences. The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years in a fine dining environment, strong communication and teamwork skills, and be able to manage customer inquiries effectively. Responsibilities include taking orders, serving food and beverages, maintaining restaurant appearance, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. A commitment to customer satisfaction and teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of experience as a server, fine dining experience preferred.
  • Food handling certificate where applicable.
  • Certificate in alcoholic awareness program where applicable.
  • Basic reading, writing, and mathematical skills required.
  • Minimum of 18 years of age to serve alcohol, 21 to pour.

  • Able to resolve problems of dissatisfied customers and/or employees
  • Minimum of 18 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages and 21 to pour
Responsibilities
  • The Server engages with residents and guests to provide a memorable dining experience by taking food and beverage orders, retrieving and serving food & beverages according to service standards, courteously and efficiently. This individual collects payments when necessary. This individual assists in the appearance and maintenance of the restaurant area and equipment.
  • Provide a high level of customer service at all times.
  • Anticipate residents’ needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of restaurant operations, proper table setup and dress code of the restaurant.
  • Work closely with the Food & Beverage Director and/or General Manager to keep residents satisfied with food and beverage programs.
  • Set tables in accordance to Coterie standards.
  • Serve residents and guests meals and beverages as requested.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of and strictly abide by state liquor regulations, particularly those prohibiting service to minors, intoxicated persons and drunk driving.
  • Adhere to Quality Enhancement standards and standard food safety practices.
  • Review daily menu with residents.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of Toast and/or POS system as well as manual systems.
  • Take and deliver accurate meal orders to residents and guests.
  • Remove used or soiled plates, utensils, glasses, linen from the dining room as needed.
  • Clean and reset tables immediately after resident and guests depart.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of all menu items, prices, preparation method/time, major ingredients and quality standards of taste, appearance, texture, serving temperature, portion size and method of presentation.
  • Assist with preparation and execution of special events, banquets, and theme meals.
  • Adhere to payment, cash handling and credit policies/procedures.
  • Process payments through the POS.
  • When applicable, acquaint new residents with menus, seating, and dining options and hours.
  • Clean and sanitize carpet, tables, chairs, condiment containers, and equipment used in the dining room.
  • Complete side duties as assigned: cleanliness, quality and amount of all restaurant stock and supplies using checklist; fold napkins.
  • Review reservations and accommodate requests and exceed expectations for pre-assigned tables as necessary.
  • Create a strong sense of teamwork and cooperation among all staff.
  • Attend pre-meal stand-up held for all dining and kitchen staff.
  • May perform other duties as needed and/or assigned.
