Job summary

Primanti Bros. Restaurant & Bar in Pittsburgh is hiring a part-time server. You will provide warm, attentive service, explain menu options, and upsell promotions to guests while maintaining a clean, efficient station.

Some days include night and weekend shifts with benefits and opportunities for growth within this iconic Pittsburgh brand. Experience in fast-paced dining, a friendly attitude, and the ability to multitask are essential.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and write in English.
• Good communication, friendly and people-oriented.

• RAMP and/or TIPS certification as required by state.

Responsibilities

• Provides warm and friendly service from greeting to the guest's Primanti Bros. experience.
• Knowledge of the menu; explains choices and informs about promotions.
• Upsells and communicates current promotions and events to guests.
• Writes orders accurately and enters them into POS in sequence, timing items correctly.
• Delivers orders or follows up with the service assistant to ensure accuracy and quality.
• Maintains clean, organized station; pre-bussing and clearing tables as needed.
• Follows alcohol awareness procedures and identifies age for service restrictions.
• Processes payments following established accounting procedures.
• Keeps station clean and sets up/takes down tables as required.
• Adheres to safety and sanitation policies throughout shift.
• Maintains a positive, cooperative working environment with teammates.
• Completes opening, shift-change and closing checklists and routine cleaning tasks.
• Performs other duties as requested by the Coach.

SERVER POSITION SUMMARY
Servers ensure Fans receive an exceptional dining experience through providing service in a timely and proficient manner, while being attentive to the Fans needs.

SERVER ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Provides warm and friendly service to each Fan from the initial greet to the end of their Primanti Bros. experience.
2. Possesses proficient knowledge of the menu and able to explain choices to the Fan, informs them of current food & beverage promotions and answer any questions.
3. Upsells and suggestive sells menu items, informs Fans of special promotions, Happy Hours specials, or any upcoming Events.
4. Writes food and beverage orders accurately on paper and quickly enters into POS system in proper sequence, while timing the ringing of appetizers, kids’ meals, entrees, all per Fans request.
5. Delivers the order or follows up after the delivery by the Service Assistant, making sure that the order is excellent in every way.
6. Practices pre-bussing as you go and maintains table appearance, removes clutter, checks drink levels.
7. Follows alcohol awareness procedures for identifying age, preventing intoxication, and dealing with potentially intoxicated Fans.
8. Collects payment for drinks and/or food served following our established accounting procedures for all transactions.
9. Keeps station clean, sets up and takes down station tables appropriately.
10. Adheres to all safety and sanitation policies and procedures throughout shift.
11. Maintains a favorable working relationship with all Players to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate.
12. Completes the opening, shift change, and closing checklists found in multi-colored wall units as well as weekly and monthly cleaning tasks.
13. Performs other duties as needed per Coach request.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

1. Ability to write and read the English language.

3. Enthusiastic, dependable, courteous, able to multitask.
4. Possesses basic math skills.
5. Completes and passes the RAMP and/or TIPS certification per state requirements, if applicable.

SERVER QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

Stands 100% of the shift. Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and wiping. Able to deliver food, beverages, and clear tables which may require lifting as much as 50lbs.
