Job summary

Big Whiskey's American Restaurant & Bar in Ozark, MO is hiring a server to provide friendly, responsive service and create an exceptional dining experience for guests. Your main goal is to ensure guests have a marvelous time and want to return.

Responsibilities include greeting guests quickly, taking orders, delivering food and drinks promptly, and maintaining a clean, efficient service area. Previous server experience and strong money handling skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of service experience.
• Must communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of our guests.
• Basic knowledge of dining room and service procedures and functions.
• Possess basic math skills and ability to handle money and operate a Micros system.
• Able to stand for long periods (up to 5 hours).
• Able to lift and maneuver trays weighing 20–25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and greet guests within 30 seconds and make them comfortable.
• Introduce yourself and inform guests of specials and menu changes.
• Make recommendations and answer questions about food and drinks.
• Take orders, enter into Micros, ensure accuracy, relay to kitchen/bar.
• Deliver food and beverages timely and check back with guests.
• Perform side work at shift start/end and restock as needed.
• Anticipate guests' needs and build regulars.
• Maintain clean service areas and pre-bus tables.
• Monitor dining experience and address guest requests promptly.
• Prepare final bill, present check, and process payment.
• Assist fellow servers and bussers as needed to ensure smooth operation.
• Invite guests to return and help with cover as directed by supervisor.

Summary of Position:

Provide friendly, responsive service to create an exceptional dining experience for all of our guests. Each server’s primary objective is to show our guests such a marvelous time, they will want to return again and again.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Welcome and greet guests within 30 seconds. Make all of our guests feel comfortable and let them know you’re there to personally take care of them
• Introduce yourself
• Inform guests of specials and menu changes
• Make recommendations you genuinely feel your guest will enjoy
• Answer questions about our food, beverages, and other restaurant functions and services
• Take food and beverage orders from guests, enter orders into the micros system, double-check to ensure accuracy, which relays orders to the kitchen and bar.
• Deliver food and beverages from the kitchen and bar to guests in a timely manner (1-minute drink orders)
• Perform side work at the start and end of each shift as required by the service station assignment
• Anticipated the guests' needs i.e. napkins, drink refills, appetizer plates
• Build Regulars
• Maintain clean service areas and pre bus tables
• Monitor and observe guests' dining experience. Ensure guests are satisfied with the food and service. Respond promptly and courteously to any requests
• Prepare final bill, present the check to the guest, accept payment, process credit card charges or make a change if applicable
• When dropping check, don’t travel too far, check back asap
• Be ready and willing to assist fellow servers as situations arise
• Be ready and willing to assist the bus person/hostess with clearing and resetting tables
• Thank guests for their visit and invite them to return
• Be available to fill in as needed to ensure smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor

Qualifications:
