Job summary

Delaware North’s Patina Group is seeking a seasonal Server at Stella 34, New York, for the fall–winter season. This tipped role pays hourly with a base rate of $11.35/hour, with tipped earnings on top. Responsibilities include greeting guests, taking orders, serving, and collaborating with kitchen staff.

Season runs from the end of September to the first week of January; benefits information available via the company site. Must be able to lift 35 lbs and stand for long periods.

Qualifications

• Experience handling cash and processing payments.
• Prefer 1 year as a server in a high-volume setting.
• No high school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests, present menus, communicate specials, take orders.
• Serve alcoholic beverages responsibly according to policy.
• Enter orders into POS, process payments, deliver checks.
• Collaborate with fellow servers and kitchen/bar staff.
• Perform opening/closing, cleaning, side work, and keep areas clean.

What will you do?

• Greet and attend to guests’ needs, provide menus and clearly communicate restaurant specials, answer menu questions, and collect food and beverage orders
• Serve alcoholic beverages responsibly, adhering to all alcohol service policies and procedures
• Accurately enter orders into the point-of-sale system and process payments, as well as prepare and deliver the check to guests
• Collaborate with other restaurant servers and kitchen and bar staff
• Perform opening, closing, cleaning, and side work duties, as assigned, and ensure all equipment and workspaces are clean, sanitized, organized, and functioning

More about you

• Experience in cash handling and credit card processing
• Beneficial if you have one year’s experience as a server in a high-volume environment and experience with a point-of-sale system in a service or hospitality environment
• No high school diploma or GED required

Physical requirements

• Must be able to lift 35 lbs, as well as walk, which may include walking up stairs, standing, and bending for long periods of time
• Visual awareness and hearing sufficient to take orders and prepare checks
