Job summary

The Biltmore Hotel is seeking a professional Server to provide guests with top-tier service and extensive product knowledge of food and beverages. The role requires enthusiasm, a positive attitude, and adherence to BSOP’s, with strong teamwork and operating POS and timekeeping systems efficiently.

Applicants should have a High School Diploma and at least two years of experience in a high-volume restaurant, plus solid English communication and mathematical skills to handle orders and cash

Responsibilities

  • Provide highest levels of professionalism and enthusiasm to guests and co-workers.

  • Maintain sanitation and safety standards.
  • Know location and requisitioning of products and supplies.

  • Daily reconciliation of sales and credit information.
  • Declare earned gratuities per government rules.
  • Notify manager of problems immediately.

The server must be enthusiastic about the position and maintain a positive attitude toward both the guest and other staff members of the hotel.

Responsibilities
  • Providing the highest levels of professionalism and enthusiasm to guests, and co-workers.
  • Complete knowledge of use and care of Point of Sale and timekeeping systems.
  • Completion of all assigned opening and closing tasks pertinent to the server position.
  • Assist co-workers in the performance of their responsibilities when necessary.
  • Maintenance of the highest levels of sanitation and safety in the workplace.
  • Knowledge of location and requisitioning of all necessary products and supplies.
  • Knowledge of bar and dining area seating charts.
  • Complete familiarity with liquor and wine selection, pricing and preparation.
  • Complete familiarity with all menu item preparations and presentation.
  • Knowledge of and adherence to proper I.D procedures.
  • Adherence to service standards as outlined in BSOP’s.
  • Daily reconciliation of sales and credit information.
  • Declaration of earned gratuities in accordance with current governmental requirements.
  • Immediate notification of a manager in the event of a problem, or the perception of a problem.

  • Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
  • Use, carry, and operate all necessary office equipment using finger dexterity.
  • Communicate with employees, managers, subordinates and guests through verbal communication, hearing ability, and visual acuity.
  • Visually look at a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Adapt to moderate temperatures in the hotel as thermostat is controlled by hotel environmental systems. Most work tasks are performed indoors.
