Job summary

Ascend Hospitality Group seeks a hospitality team member to take orders, suggest menu items, and ensure guest satisfaction. You will monitor order timing, assist staff, and handle payments using the POS system while maintaining a clean and safe dining environment.

Responsibilities include greeting guests, answering phones for reservations or takeout orders, and performing daily side work. OLCC compliance and responsible alcohol service are essential.

Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Takes orders from guests for food or beverages, suggests food and beverages. Maintains a knowledge of all food and beverage selections. Answer questions about menu items, makes recommendations.
• Monitors ticket times and works with staff to ensure food preparation activities are executed in a timely fashion.
• Checks with guests to ensure that they are enjoying their meals and takes action to correct any problems.
• Checks guests’ identification to ensure that they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages.
• Attempts to limit problems and liability related to customers' excessive drinking by taking steps such as persuading customers to stop drinking or ordering taxis or other transportation for intoxicated patrons.
• Adheres to all OLCC State Laws regarding responsible alcohol service.
• Follows FIFO (first in, first out) practices and proper product rotation.
• Ensures proper food handling, hygiene, and cleanliness by following food safety guidelines and maintaining a clean work environment.
• Uses the P.O.S. system to input orders and collects payments from guests.
• Removes dishes and glasses from tables or counters and take them to kitchen for cleaning.
• Serves food or beverages to guests.
• Completes assigned opening, ongoing and closing side work.
• Assists host by answering phones to take reservations or to-go orders, and by greeting, seating, and thanking guests.
• Performs cleaning duties, such as sweeping and mopping floors, vacuuming carpet, tidying up server station, taking out trash, or checking and cleaning bathroom.
• Maintains a safe, sanitary and secure environment at all times.
• Performs additional daily duties including, but not limited to, answering the phone, bussing tables, cleaning workstations, rolling silverware, expediting orders, and running food.
• Other duties as assigned.
