Job summary

Rise N Shine Cafe in Helena, MT is seeking staff to coordinate the dining station and liaise with front and back of house teams to deliver an exceptional guest experience. You will take orders, ensure accuracy, monitor timing, and help maintain a welcoming, clean service area.

Responsibilities include observing guests, handling requests, presenting the bill, performing side work, and assisting with desserts as needed.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred; must communicate verbally and in writing.
• Experience in food service preferred; knowledge of dining room procedures.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent guest service and sense of timing are essential.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate station and communicate with front and back of house to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Process guest orders and ensure items are prepared properly and in a timely manner.
• Observe guests, respond to requests, present the bill, and reset the station for the next shift.
• Complete side work as needed and assist with dessert prep as required.

Position Description & Duties: Coordinating entire station and communicating with front and back of the house personnel to provide a dining experience that meets or exceeds guest expectations. Processes guest orders to ensure that all items are prepared properly and on a timely basis. Observes guests to ensure that they are completely satisfied with food, beverages and service. Responds to additional requests and determines when the meal has been completed. Removes dishes, silverware, condiments and as needed throughout the meal. Offers and prepares desserts. Presents bill, insures that their section is clean and set up for next shift. Completing side work as needed.

Requirements

• EDUCATION: High School graduate or equivalent preferred. Must be able to communicate (verbal and written) and understand the guests who typically visit the work location. Must be able to perform simple mathematical calculations.
• EXPERIENCE: Prior food and/or restaurant experience preferred but varies depending on the type of restaurant and level of service they have had. Knowledge of sequence of service and dining rooms procedures.
• Must be customer sensitive and possess a sense of timing so that different courses may be served at the proper time. Basic knowledge of proper food handling and sanitation standards. Friendly with an outgoing personality and service orientation.
• PHYSICAL: Must be able to exert fast paced mobility for periods of up to six hours in length. Must have the ability to lift pans and trays frequently weight up to 25 pounds.
