Job summary

Yona is seeking a Server to provide warm, friendly hospitality to residents, visitors, and coworkers. You will greet guests, take orders, assist with food preparation, and ensure meals meet residents’ expectations in a clean, compliant dining environment.

The position requires proven server experience, strong communication, and adherence to sanitation guidelines; a background check is required. On-site work with potential for growth within the health-care dining services.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Server.
• Knowledge of sanitation and safety guidelines.
• High school diploma or equivalent; food services certification a plus.
• Criminal background check required.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the preparation of food in quantities according to the menu and number of residents.
• Greets residents and guests, seats them, and ensures menu needs are met.
• Takes resident orders and serves meals in a timely manner.
• Ensures food is prepared correctly and to residents’ satisfaction; returns incorrect orders to kitchen.
• Cleans dining areas, workspaces, and equipment according to sanitation procedures.
• Reports issues to the Food Services Director and adheres to safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the preparation of food in quantities according to the menu, recipe and number of persons to be served.
• Sets up dining room as instructed.
• Prepares items such as salads and beverages.
• Greets customers as they are seated at the table; ensures the table is clean and that utensils, napkins, and other needs have been provided.
• Distributes menus and presents daily specials.
• Answers questions regarding the menu
• Takes resident orders in dining room and serves meals to residents in a timely manner.
• Ensures that food is prepared correctly and to residents’ satisfaction; returns incorrect or improperly cooked orders to kitchen.
• Cleans resident eating areas, work areas, equipment and utensils according to the proper procedures.
• Collects and stacks dirty dishes on cart and returns cart to kitchen.
• Washes cooking equipment, carts, pots, pans, dishes and utensils.
• Cleans eating and prep surfaces, sweeps and mops floor.
• Removes garbage.
• Stores food in designated areas.
• Reports any issues or problems that may arise to Food Services Director.
• Complies with state and federal sanitation standards.
• Complies with state, federal, and all other applicable health care and safety standards.
• Attends in-services and other required meetings.
• Performs other duties and tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Server
• Further experience in customer service will be appreciated
• Knowledge of sanitation and safety guidelines
• Apt in operating cookware, bakeware and cooking appliances
• Friendly with good communication skills
• Good physical condition and stamina
• High school diploma or equivalent; certification in food services is a plus
• Must provide a criminal background check
