Job summary

ROOH Chicago is seeking a server with a background in upscale dining to join our front-of-house team. The role offers a mix of bar and dining shifts, with a focus on guest experience and menu storytelling.

Candidates should have 3+ years in high-volume settings, deep knowledge of food and beverage, and the ability to explain dishes and wine pairings confidently. State-certified food handling is preferred; health benefits are included.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in a high-volume, full-service, elevated dining restaurant setting.
• Extensive food and beverage knowledge.
• Knowledge of Wine Service, Spirits and beer and the ability to make pairing recommendations to guests.
• Willingness to learn about a new culture and ingredients and the ability to confidently explain our dishes to guests.
• Ability to multi-task and work under pressure.
• A team player that is always willing to help their colleagues and brings up issues to management right away to ensure everyone leaves with a positive experience

Responsibilities

• Interact with guests in a friendly, efficient and professional manner.
• Use ToastPOS system to process orders and bill.
• Maintain specific side-work and ensure the total cleanliness and smooth operation of the station, the tables and restaurant before, during and at the conclusion of the shift worked.

Job description

The server is responsible for representing ROOH Chicago with the highest level of professionalism while selling and serving an upscale dining experience. We offer an ala carte menu and an 8 course tasting menu.

If you have bartending experience that is a plus. We would be able to give you a mix of shifts. Some days at the bar and some days serving.

Our servers work closely with the rest of the staff, both FOH and BOH, to ensure product quality and a thorough understanding of our food and beverage menus, along with inspiration and history in order to tell our story to our guests. • Must have State of Illinois Basset Certification/Food Handlers Certification
• Must be at least 21 years of age and legally able to serve alcohol in the city of Chicago
