Job summary

Generation Hospitality is seeking a Server for its Billings restaurant to deliver warm, attentive service in a fast-paced setting. You will guide guests through the menu, take accurate orders, and coordinate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure timely, correct presentations.

This full-time, hourly role requires excellent English communication, a friendly demeanor, basic math for payments, and the ability to stand for long periods while upholding safety and sanitation standards.

Qualifications

• Previous server or customer-facing experience preferred.
• Strong English communication and professional demeanor.
• Ability to deliver high guest service in a fast-paced setting.
• Basic math skills and cash/payment handling accuracy.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
• Willingness to learn menu items and daily specials.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests promptly and warmly, providing menus and explaining daily specials or promotions.
• Take accurate food and beverage orders and enter them into the point-of-sale (POS) system.
• Serve food and beverages in a timely, professional manner, ensuring correct orders and proper presentation.
• Check in with guests throughout their meal to anticipate needs and resolve any concerns quickly.
• Maintain detailed knowledge of the menu, including ingredients, preparation methods, and common dietary restrictions.
• Prepare and serve non-alcoholic beverages; coordinate with bar staff for alcoholic drink orders as required by policy.
• Handle guest payments accurately, process cash and card transactions, and follow proper check-out procedures.
• Set up, clear, and reset tables efficiently, ensuring cleanliness and readiness for the next guests.
• Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines, including proper food handling and cleaning practices.
• Collaborate with hosts, servers, bussers, and kitchen staff to support smooth and efficient service.
• Respond to guest inquiries and special requests with professionalism, courtesy, and problem-solving mindset.
• Assist with opening and closing side work such as stocking stations, polishing glassware and silverware, and cleaning service areas.
• Adhere to company policies, dress code, and service standards at all times.

• Reliable, punctual, and able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
• Willingness to learn menu items, daily specials, and basic food and beverage knowledge
• Familiarity with POS systems is a plus
• Minimum age as required by local law and restaurant policy; ability to obtain any required food handler or alcohol service certifications
