THE ROLE

You will join a dedicated team focused on developing and optimizing AMD's SerDes technology, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, cutting-edge solutions. The team collaborates closely with architecture, design, applications, and system platform departments. This role requires technical expertise and a commitment to continuous professional growth.

THE PERSON

Ideal candidates will have a strong interest in SerDes validation and characterization, excel in teamwork, and possess excellent communication skills. We seek motivated individuals skilled in optimizing SerDes performance and troubleshooting issues within a collaborative environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Validate and characterize AMD's SerDes PHY functionality and performance against design targets, product requirements, datasheets, and industry standards.
• Collaborate with internal and external teams to troubleshoot issues and identify root causes, providing feedback for design improvements.
• Work with architects, design engineers, and application engineers to understand specifications and features for validation and characterization.
• Ensure and enhance SerDes electrical and optical performance in compliance with standards such as PCI-SIG, IEEE, and OIF.
• Develop test automation using scripting and programming to improve testing efficiency and data analysis coverage.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

• Hands-on experience with lab instruments like high-speed scopes, BERT, VNA, and related equipment.
• Experience in mixed signal analysis and debugging issues.
• Knowledge of latest SerDes architecture or design.
• Experience with electrical compliance testing for standards like PCIe and Ethernet.
• Proficiency in scripting for test automation and GUI demos.
• Understanding of Signal and Power Integrity; familiarity with advanced data post-processing is a plus.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS

• BSc or MSc in Electrical or Computer Engineering preferred.
