Position Details

This is an in-office position located in Stockton or Los Angeles, CA, full-time.

Responsibilities
  1. Handle personal injury case files from start to finish, carrying a caseload.
  2. Evaluate potential personal injury claims and provide legal advice to prospective clients.
  3. Draft, review, and modify claims, motions, discovery responses, demand letters, pleadings, subpoenas, memorandums, and other legal documents.
  4. Research case law and premises liability; gather insurance policies, medical expenses, medical records, and other relevant evidence (preferred experience with Westlaw).
  5. Communicate with clients, expert witnesses, insurance adjusters, supporting witnesses, and medical providers to gather information.
  6. Negotiate settlement offers and appropriately settle cases on behalf of clients.
  7. Make court appearances at hearings, trials, mediations, depositions, and throughout California.
  8. Document and update case files in the case management system (preferred experience with CasePeer).
  9. Manage a team of paralegals, legal assistants, case managers, and legal secretaries.
  10. Track work calendars, including appointment and court deadlines pursuant to the California Code of Civil Procedure.
  11. Calculate costs and prepare settlement breakdowns for clients and insurance providers.
Minimum Requirements
  • JD, licensed and admitted to the California State Bar.
  • Experience in plaintiff personal injury law, 1-5 years preferred.
