Job summary

The Sepsis Coordinator at VCU Health plays a vital role in the development, evaluation and implementation of sepsis treatment, ensuring adherence to the early goal-directed therapy bundle elements in collaboration with the healthcare team.

They lead the Sepsis Committee for adult inpatient and ED services, drive quality improvements, coordinate care across the continuum, manage improvement projects, and optimize workflows and reporting through the EHR.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is required.
• Minimum 5 years of clinical nursing with ICU or ED experience and 3 years of leadership/management.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, and clinical software.
• Ability to analyze and solve problems and disseminate data across the health system.
• Strong interpersonal skills and professional customer service.

Responsibilities

• Represent sepsis care and build relationships with front-line team members and stakeholders.
• Lead Sepsis Committee for adult inpatient and ED services.
• Act as Project Manager for improvement projects and drive best practices.
• Translate guidelines into clinical practice.
• Develop workflows with ED sepsis response and Rapid Response teams.
• Lead EHR improvements to support workflows and reporting.
