Our government division supplies law enforcement and other agencies through dedicated inside and field sales teams.

Position Overview

The SEO Strategist is responsible for developing all SEO strategies and may function as a junior-level SEO Manager in some cases. The SEO Strategist will work directly with the Senior SEO Manager, Director of Inbound, Director of Outbound, and the Product Merchandising team to build SEO strategies aimed at increasing keyword ranking, clicks, impressions, organic traffic, and revenue. They will be responsible for developing and executing strategies with the SEO Specialist and Senior SEO Specialist, acting as the 'product owner' of SEO strategy.

Requires advanced keyword research using SEMRush, other competitive research tools, Google Analytics 4, and Google Search Console. Knowledge of UX/UI and best design practices, extensive e-commerce experience, and the ability to collaborate with stakeholders to set goals are essential. Some knowledge of social media and both technical and content SEO tactics is required. An ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of SEO experience and be capable of working independently and managing small teams.

Responsibilities:
  • Produce competitive search ranking research of near-peer and new competitors in the firearms space
  • Perform keyword research and gap analysis to inform SEO growth strategies
  • Conduct routine on-page and full-site audits, analyzing user search intent with UX/UI considerations
  • Combine competitive analysis, keyword research, and UX/UI into actionable SEO strategies to gain market share
  • Develop SEO strategies for blog and knowledge hub to enhance search presence and provide value to customers
  • Map keywords to landing pages, PLPs, and PDPs according to SEO strategy
  • Collaborate with product merchandising for product launch strategies that drive SEO value
  • Optimize YouTube and other social media channels for search, sharing best practices
  • Coordinate with Site Experience and DX teams to create content experiences that attract and retain users
  • Present SEO strategies to stakeholders and executives for buy-in
  • Work with Content and Graphics teams to ensure SEO goals are met
  • Identify offsite SEO opportunities with Affiliate Marketing and PR teams
  • Collaborate with Senior SEO Manager on content topic mapping, reporting on strategy success, and aligning offsite and content strategies
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Willingness to work in the gun and firearm industry
  • Proficiency in developing content marketing campaigns, advanced keyword research, and competitive analysis using tools like SEMRush, Ahrefs, or Botify
  • Knowledge of Technical SEO, offsite and content-related SEO
  • Strong understanding of brand marketing and branding
  • Ability to perform in-depth SEO analysis and manage small teams
  • Knowledge of UI/UX best practices, YouTube SEO, and social media strategies
  • Experience managing projects, setting KPIs, and working cross-functionally
  • Familiarity with CMS platforms like WordPress, ContentStack, Contentful, and e-commerce platforms like BigCommerce
  • Experience with generative AI tools for data analysis, strategic planning, and content ideation
  • Knowledge of HTML, some CSS, and JS is a plus
  • Strategic thinking, leadership, and excellent communication skills
  • Proficiency with project management tools like Asana, JIRA, or Monday.com
Education / Experience:
  • High school Diploma / GED
  • 3 to 5 years of SEO experience
  • Experience in digital marketing or SEO agency preferred
  • Current GA4 Analytics Certification
  • Web development experience and brand marketing experience preferred
  • Experience with Agile marketing and content marketing campaigns is a plus
