The Role

As ourSEO Link Building Strategist, your job is to turn great content into measurable organic growth through tactical and scalable backlink acquisition. You’ll work alongside SEO strategists and content leads to close link gaps, grow domain authority, and push key pages up the SERPs for our SaaS and tech clients.

You’ll own the link building process end-to-end—from strategy, to outreach playbooks, to campaign execution with support from dedicated link prospectors and writers.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Develop and own link building strategies across 4–6 SaaS client projects
• Prioritize content based on traffic potential and ranking difficulty
• Build monthly campaign roadmaps tied to measurable SEO goals
• Coordinate with link prospectors and outreach VAs
• Oversee email outreach campaigns for guest posts, listicles, and link insertions
• Review link placement quality, anchor text, and contextual relevance

Analysis & Optimization (30%)

• Run backlink audits and competitor link gap analyses using Ahrefs/Semrush
• Track link acquisition KPIs, domain relevance, and campaign ROI
• Refine outreach messaging and prospecting filters based on data feedback
• Know how togetbacklinks that matter (not just get links)
• Understand what makes a high-quality link (not just DA/DR)
• Can reverse engineer competitor strategies and find real gaps
• Are comfortable owning client-facing reporting and communicating link impact
• Thrive in async, remote environments with fast-moving teams

Required Skills & Tools

• 3+ years in SEO, with 2+ years focused on link acquisition
• Proficient in Ahrefs, SEMrush, and backlink audit tools
• Strong understanding of content-led link building and search intent
• Experience leading outreach systems (email templates, prospecting SOPs, etc.)
• Bonus: Experience managing freelancers or VAs for outreach/prospecting
