Job summary

IDX is seeking an SEO Director to lead innovative SEO and AI search strategies for major clients, driving visibility across Google and AI answer engines. You will collaborate with Strategy, Content, and Paid teams to translate ideas into measurable impact and evolve our SEO offering.

Qualifications

• 7 years of experience developing successful organic search strategies.
• Proven SEO veteran with experience developing and executing a winning strategy.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Leadership experience and passion for mentoring and developing a team.
• Ability to implement a data-driven strategy but flexible enough to pivot when needed.
• An SEO leader with experience directing a team, planning and implementing SEO/AEO/GEO strategies for Fortune 500 clients.
• Demonstrated knowledge to thrive in complex client environments.
• Ability to provide subject-matter expertise across internal departments and sales/client services.

Responsibilities

• Leading the day-to-day delivery of SEO and AEO work for large clients.
• Developing and maintaining annual 12-month strategic roadmaps for key clients.
• Managing crawlability, indexation, and Knowledge Graph visibility with structured data and E-E-A-T alignment.
• Collaborating with Strategy, Paid, Content, and other teams for integrated SEO initiatives.
• Working with VP of SEO to advance service line offering, templates and SOPs.
• Running tests to grow mentions and AI answer engines (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude).
• Coaching and mentoring Phoenix team to strengthen capabilities.

The Role

As our SEO Director, you'll lead innovative SEO and AI search strategies for some of our biggest clients, driving visibility across Google and emerging answer engines like ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Claude. Working alongside our Strategy, Content and Paid teams, you'll turn cutting-edge ideas into measurable impact while helping evolve the future of our SEO offering.

What You'll Be Doing

• Leading the day-to-day delivery of SEO and AEO work for some of our largest clients, from initial technical and visibility audits to tactical sitewide and page-level recommendations.
• Developing and maintaining annual 12-month strategic roadmaps for our biggest SEO/AEO clients.
• Managing and improving the crawlability, indexation, and Knowledge Graph visibility of client domains through structured data and E-E-A-T alignment.
• Collaborating closely with Strategy, Paid, Content, and other teams to ensure SEO/AEO initiatives integrate seamlessly with wider digital strategies.
• Working closely with VP of SEO to advance service line offering, process, and deliverables, including work templates and SOPs.
• Running tests to grow mentions and citations AI answer engines (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude)
• Assisting with coaching and mentoring Phoenix team to strengthen capabilities and awareness across the agency.

About You
