Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Senior Principal Design Engineer. This position is located in Huntsville, AL or Roy, UT and supports the Sentinel program.

This role may offer a competitive relocation package.

What You’ll Get To Do:
  1. Be a subject matter expert in Common Product Lifecycle Management (Teamcenter) to resolve user issues.
  2. Triage and prioritize impact of user issues.
  3. Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve user issues when possible.
  4. Elevate user issues when needed.
  5. Follow user support workflow.
  6. Learn program and division Principles & Operating Practices to identify correct PLM usage.
  7. Work closely with program user community.
  8. Act as a liaison across multiple engineering disciplines and programs.
  9. Identify potential process gaps.
  10. Identify recurring user issues for training opportunities.
  11. Perform tool testing.
  12. Assist with creating and maintaining product documentation such as job aids.
  13. Bring a strong ability to understand, implement, and adhere to documented processes, making sound decisions.
  14. Represent the Strategic Deterrent Systems and Sentinel organizations professionally with internal and external contacts, including suppliers and leadership.

Work Schedule:

This position follows a 9/80 schedule, allowing employees to work nine-hour days Monday through Thursday and take every other Friday off.

Job Qualifications:

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 8 years of experience, or 6 years with a Master’s degree, or 4 years with a PhD.
  • Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance within the last 6 years.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain SAP approval.
  • Experience with CAD modeling using Siemens NX or similar.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience working with distributed teams.

Nice to Have Qualifications:

  • Experience with ticketing systems like Service Now.
  • Experience with Siemens Capital & Xpedition.
  • Experience with CAE analysis tools.
  • Experience with configuration management.
  • Knowledge of Systems Engineering principles.
  • Experience in defense system/subsystem product design.
  • Experience with Systems Engineering tools (CAMEO/DOORS).
  • Proficiency in 3D/2D CAD design in NX.
  • Proficiency with PDM and CPLM.
  • Knowledge of GD&T and ASME Y14.5-2009.
  • Experience working with specialty engineering stakeholders.
  • Leadership experience in engineering teams or projects.
  • Hands-on experience in equipment maintenance, fabrication, and measurement tools.
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written, with ability to understand technical documents.
Salary Range:

$95,300.00 - $196,700.00. Salary offers depend on various factors including experience, education, skills, and market conditions. Additional benefits may include bonuses, long-term incentives, and comprehensive health and wellness programs.
