Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Roy, Utah, is seeking a Program Planning and Scheduling Analyst (Level 2 or 3) to join our SDS division. The role focuses on integrating cost, schedule, and technical performance, using advanced scheduling tools and earned value management to drive program success.

You will collaborate with management, perform risk analyses, and support month-end EV reporting, with a standard 9/80 schedule and potential relocation assistance. U.S.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of related experience for Level 2; Master’s or additional experience may be required for Level 3.
  • US citizenship and ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance.
  • Experience with MS Office and Excel VBA.
  • Aerospace/Defense industry experience.
  • Ability to travel domestically up to 10%.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with management to develop an integrated program measurement baseline for cost, schedule, and technical performance.
  • Perform schedule risk analyses and resolve critical path issues and network logic conflicts.
  • Analyze projects through metrics and predictive analysis to improve cost, schedule, and technical performance.
  • Use Gantt, PERT, EV and related methods to gauge progress and target variances.
  • Incorporate contractual changes into control baselines and monitor against contracts.
  • Participate in month-end Earned Value reporting close activities.

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Program Planning and Scheduling Analyst level 2 or 3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located at Roy, UT to support the Strategic Deterrent Systems (SDS) Division. Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force’s sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities and associated infrastructure. This position may be filled at a higher level based on qualifications below.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with business management and project management staff to develop an integrated program measurement baseline to manage cost, schedule, and technical performance of the program.
  • Perform Schedule risk analyses and work with the program manager to resolve risky schedules, critical path issues, and network logic conflicts.
  • Perform thorough project analysis through metrics reviews and predictive analysis to enhance cost, schedule, and technical performance.
  • Utilize Gantt, PERT, milestone charts, earned value management and other project management techniques to gauge progress and identify performance variances to facilitate focus and intervention on critical areas.
  • Incorporate contractual changes into control systems by staying aware of outstanding work against each contract to maintain realistic contract cost and schedule baselines.
  • Participate in month-end Earned Value reporting close activities.

This position may be filled at a Program Planning and Scheduling Analyst level 2 or at a Principal Program Planning and Scheduling Analyst level 3.

Minimum Education Required

Bachelors

Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities
Basic Education and Experience Qualifications for a Level 2
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of related professional experience - OR - a Master’s degree with 0 years of related professional experience - OR - 4 additional years of related experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.
  • US citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Excel Macro/VBA.
  • Aerospace/Defense Industry Experience.
  • Ability to travel domestically 10% of the time.
Basic Education And Experience Qualifications For a Level 3
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of related professional experience - OR - a Master’s degree with 3 years of related professional experience - OR - a PhD with 1 year of related professional experience. 4 additional years of related experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.
  • US citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance.
  • Experience with MS Project, P6 Primavera, Deltek Open Plan, Deltek Cobra/MPM, Deltek Acumen, OR other Schedule Risk Assessment software tools.
  • Experience working in Microsoft Project Server Environment.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Excel Macro/VBA.
  • Aerospace/Defense Industry Experience.
  • Ability to travel domestically 10% of the time.
Preferred Qualifications For BOTH Levels
  • Active U.S. Government Secret level security clearance (with the investigation in the past 6 years).
  • Active SCI (SSBI) or DoD Top Secret security clearance (with a full investigation within the past 6 years).
  • Experience in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Program Cost Analysis or Program Scheduling.
  • 1+ years of Earned Value Management System (EVMS) experience.
  • Experience with Schedule Analytics and Schedule Risk Assessment tools.
  • Ability to effectively manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically 10% of the time.
  • Excellent problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical ability.

This position’s standard work schedule is 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
