Job description

Job Description

BAE Systems is seeking an experienced Engineer for a Command & Control Engineer role supporting the U.S. Air Force's Sentinel ICBM Program. This position involves working with the Sentinel Program's Command & Launch (C&L) Team to develop command & control capabilities for the next-generation ICBM system.

The responsibilities include:

  1. Weapon system command & control, including missile launch consoles and data processing equipment.
  2. Securing nuclear codes and cryptography for ICBM launch confidentiality and integrity.
  3. ICBM targeting and weapon system processing.
  4. Nuclear command, control & communications (NC3) systems management.
  5. Command pathways for voice & data transmission in missile fields.
  6. Airborne launch control capabilities aboard Navy E-6B aircraft.
  7. Actuation & mechanical systems maintenance and development.
  8. Power distribution and endurance systems at launch facilities.
  9. Physical security systems at launch sites.

The engineer will also review and evaluate designs, documentation, and architectures related to Sentinel command & control subsystems, and coordinate with stakeholders and external agencies.

About the Program: The Sentinel Program is a major DoD effort to replace and modernize the ICBM weapon system, including facilities, command & control systems, and support equipment, with deployment expected over nine years starting in the late 2020s.

Minimum Requirements
  • BS/MS in Engineering, Computer Science, Software, Physics, or Mathematics.
  • At least 7 years (or 5 with MS) of experience in systems integration and analysis.
  • 2 years' experience leading system design and integration efforts.
  • Current Secret security clearance or higher, with ability to obtain SAP clearance.
