Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Principal Aeronautical Engineer / Sr. Principal Aeronautical Engineer. This position is located in Roy, UT and supports the Sentinel program. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

You'll Bring These Qualifications:

NOTE: This position may be filled at either level depending on relevant, qualified experience of applicants.

Principal Engineer:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline and 5 years experience, 3 years with a Master's degree, 1 years with a PhD.

Sr Principal Engineer:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) discipline and 8 years of experience; 6 years with Master’s degree; 4 years with PhD

Both positions require the following experience:

  • Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.

  • Strong understanding of engineering principles, processes and applications (engineering standards, configuration management, material review board, process control, tooling, facilities, software, etc.) Hands on experience in project management and control account management.

  • Minimum 4 years' experience with thermal, structural or dynamics analysis methods.

  • Minimum 3 years' experience integrating multiple engineering specialties and disciplines to achieve and comply with program requirements.

  • Minimum 3 years demonstrated experience successfully leading team(s) or project(s).

  • Familiarity with risk development and mitigation plans.

  • Skilled in Microsoft Project (scheduling), Microsoft Excel (pivot tables), and Microsoft PowerPoint.

These Qualifications Would Be Nice to Have:
  • Combination of knowledge and experience in the majority of the following areas: complex integration and qualification/acceptance testing, product development, including mechanical design and analysis, materials, electrical schematic design, electrical analysis, Radio Frequency (RF) components, and ordnance integration.

  • Interact with design and development teams (teams include specialists in Design, Quality, Materials, Manufacturing, and Test) to create and verify creative design solutions that meet all requirements (technical, cost, schedule).

  • Experience leading environmental test development and execution, analyzing the results, and formal documentation.

  • Familiarity with RCC, 91-710, SMC-S-016 requirements.

  • Experience performing thermal, structural or dynamics analysis.

  • Excellent technical oral and written communication, computer, documentation, and presentation skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment as part of a multi-discipline team providing.

  • A self-starter and possess strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to work both independently or as part of a team.

Salary Range: $93,500.00 - $142,900.00
Salary Range 2: $118,600.00 - $178,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
