Job summary

Afference Inc is pioneering neural haptic technology in the spatial computing era. The Sensory Neurophysiology Associate Scientist will design and run perceptual experiments, develop interfaces, and translate neurophysiological insights into consumer tech.

You’ll work in a small, collaborative startup on-site in Cleveland, contributing to data analysis, software tooling, and cross-disciplinary projects that advance tactile sensing and user experience.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with neurophysiological experimental design and execution
• Experience with neural interfaces or wearable sensory tech
• Proficiency in data collection, statistical analysis, and visualization
• Some scripting to support experimental workflows

Responsibilities

• Design, conduct, and optimize perceptual experiments focused on sensory processing
• Execute well-defined experiments and develop experimental paradigms
• Perform interface experimentation to improve sensory experiences
• Analyze neurophysiological and behavioral data with statistical rigor
• Develop, maintain, and improve software tools and scripts for data collection and analysis
• Collaborate with biomedical scientists, engineers, data scientists, and product developers
• Document protocols, results, and insights to support product development
