Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Sensor Lab Test Engineer in North Reading, MA. You will support development, characterization and validation of advanced sensing technologies for robotics and automation.

The role emphasizes hands-on lab work, test infrastructure upkeep, and data-driven analysis to ensure high quality sensor performance. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (Electrical/Optical/Physics/Mechanical) required.
• 2+ years in sensor testing, electro-optical testing, or hardware validation preferred.
• Hands-on experience with image quality metrics and 2D/3D sensor characterization.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, organized sensor testing lab.
• Manage lab inventory and calibration schedules.
• Develop and maintain SOPs, workflows, and documentation.
• Execute 2D/3D sensor tests (ToF, stereo, structured light, LiDAR).
• Analyze test data and generate detailed reports with conclusions and recommendations.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to define acceptance criteria and root causes.
• Advance automated test solutions and test fixtures to improve throughput.
