Job summary

North American Stamping Group seeks a dedicated engineer to develop NASG’s sensor application program and help position us in the top 5% of the industry. You will manage the sensor lab, evaluate and document sensor performance, and coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to drive continuous improvement.

You will train shop-floor and office personnel on sensor topics, participate in 8D problem-solving, and collaborate with press room, tool room, design, and quality teams to implement robust

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Some electronics training preferred.
  • PLC experience is preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years manufacturing experience.
  • Minimum 3 years stamping experience or related field (Automotive preferred).
  • Minimum 3 years basic electronics experience.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a running inventory of all tooling in need of sensor technology and report progress weekly.
  • Maintain the sensor laboratory and an inventory of sensor uses company wide.
  • Research and test various sensors, meet with sensor company reps, and study catalogs and web resources.
  • Document results of sensor applications simulations and develop basic drawings of sensor installations for the tool room.
  • Attend trade shows and seminars related to sensor technologies and train shop-floor and office personnel on pertinent sensor topics.
