Job summary

Apple Inc. in the San Francisco Bay Area seeks a Sensing Product Design Architecture Engineer to lead the architectural mechanical analysis and performance modeling of advanced sensing modules.

You will drive robust design decisions using FEA, tolerance analysis, and data-driven methods while coordinating with cross-functional teams. The role requires a strong background in solid mechanics, high-volume production experience, and expertise in analytical programming with Python or Matlab.

Qualifications

• BS and a minimum of 10 years relevant industry experience.
• BS in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Deep understanding of advanced mechanical engineering principles (solid mechanics, materials science, heat transfer).
• Proven experience with data-driven design using statistical analysis (e.g., Monte Carlo, DoE) and tolerance analysis.
• Experience designing for a high-volume production environment; consumer electronics or sensing is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architectural mechanical analysis and performance modeling of advanced sensing modules.
• Proactively identify, quantify, and mitigate complex mechanical risks and design trade-offs early in the product development lifecycle through rigorous analytical modeling and simulation.
• Work with cross-functional teams to generate design concepts and quantify performance impacts through analytical models.
• Clearly articulate complex technical concepts, analysis results, and design recommendations to cross-functional teams and leadership.
• Drive consensus on optimal architectural solutions, fostering collaborative decision‑making.
