This role creates leverage for the Chief Commercialization Officer and Commercialization Leadership Team by translating strategy into focus, decisions, execution, and scalable ways of working. The Senior Director will operate at the intersection of strategy, operations, communications, and organizational effectiveness. They will help the CCO prioritize the highest-value work, lead the Commercialization leadership team (CLT) operating rhythm, connect cross-functional efforts, and advance critical commercialization d priorities—while preserving the empowered, entrepreneurial argenx Way. Location: Ideally Boston-based but can be flexible with East Coast-based (with the ability to regularly travel to Boston and other key argenx locations, inclusive of Ghent).

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic partner to the CCO
  • Serve as a trusted thought partner to the CCO, translating strategic priorities into a clear operating agenda.
  • Maintain an integrated view of priorities, decisions, commitments, risks, and organizational needs.
  • Anticipate issues, surface trade-offs, and help determine what requires CCO/CLT attention versus local decision-making.
  • Bring structure and sound judgment to ambiguous, high-stakes topics.
  • Lead the CLT operating rhythm Design and continuously improve the CLT cadence, agendas, pre-reads, decision forums, action tracking, and follow-through.
  • Ensure leadership time is focused on the most important cross-functional, cross-geography, and enterprise topics.
  • Partner with topic owners to frame decisions clearly, including the recommendation, input required, decision owner, and desired outcome.
  • Capture decisions, actions, owners, and timing; ensure accountability through closure.
  • Strengthen alignment and collaboration across Commercialization leaders, regions, functions, and communities.
  • Drive strategic priorities and execution Build and manage an integrated Commercialization strategic agenda across priorities, milestones, dependencies, decisions, and risks.
  • Lead or support high-priority, commercialization initiatives from problem definition through implementation.
  • Connect work across Commercial, Medical Affairs & Evidence Generation, Market Access, regions/countries, asset/indication teams and enterprise partners such as Development.
  • Identify duplication, unclear ownership, bottlenecks, and misalignment—and help resolve them quickly.
  • Build scalable digital and AI-enabled ways of working Establish simple, effective systems for managing priorities, decisions, communications, and follow-through.
  • Apply digital tools, data, automation, and AI to improve synthesis, meeting preparation, knowledge flow, reporting, and organizational learning.
  • Champion adoption of approved digital and AI tools in ways that improve speed, clarity, quality, and productivity while maintaining appropriate governance.
  • Build capability in others and reduce reliance on manual, leader-dependent processes.
Qualifications
  • Advanced degree (Master or MBA) in business or health-related discipline
  • Significant experience in strategic operations, chief of staff, business operations, program leadership, commercial strategy, or top-tier consulting supporting senior executives
  • Proven track record leading complex cross-functional strategic projects end-to-end, leading without authority in a complex, fast-growing, network of empowered teams organization.
  • Ideally at least 5 years of Project Management experience in a Pharmaceutical or Biotech environment.
  • Strong understanding of commercialization in biotech, pharma, rare disease, immunology, specialty care, or similarly complex healthcare environments - ideally across multiple parts of the value chain (Commercial, Medical Affairs, R&D).
  • Deep understanding of the US market with at least 10 years of Biopharma commercialization experience, preferred.
  • Strong business understanding and prioritization judgment - able to tell what truly needs CCO/CLT attention and what should be decided closer to the work.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to shape executive-ready narratives, pre-reads, Board materials, and leadership communications.
  • Strong facilitation and meeting-design skills, with a track record of making senior leaders' time more productive and driving discussions to clear actions.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate strategy into operating rhythm, leadership agendas, decision forums, and follow-through mechanisms.
  • Strong organizational navigation skills, with the ability to build trust and influence without relying on hierarchy.
  • Proven ability to manage confidential, sensitive, and high-stakes information with discretion.

For applicants in the United States: The annual base salary hiring range for this position is $236,000.00 - $324,500.00 USD.

This job is eligible to participate in our short-term and long-term incentive programs, subject to the terms and conditions of those plans and applicable policies.

It also includes a comprehensive benefits package, including but not limited to retirement savings plans, health benefits and other benefits subject to the terms of the applicable plans and program guidelines.
