Job summary

Guidehouse is seeking a senior Zero Trust strategist to lead large-scale IT deployments for government clients. You will architect identity, device, network, application, and data pillars, and define roadmaps aligned with mission requirements.

You will partner with cybersecurity, network, cloud, and governance teams to drive modernization and security initiatives, including risk assessments and executive-level briefings. Home base in McLean, VA with federal-focused responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree from an accredited university.
• 8+ years of overall work experience.
• US Citizenship is contractually required.
• Must obtain and maintain a Federal or DoD Public Trust prior to onboarding.
• Federal government consulting experience.
• Experience in regulated federal civilian/defense environments.
• Familiarity with FISMA, FedRAMP, NIST 800-53.
• Experience with IT security operations, IAM, or related areas.
• Deep understanding of Zero Trust pillars: identity, device, network, data.

Responsibilities

• Design, document, and maintain enterprise Zero Trust architectures across identity, device, network, application, and data pillars.
• Define strategic roadmaps and reference architecture aligned with missions.
• Embed Zero Trust in modernization, cloud transitions, and cybersecurity initiatives.
• Collaborate across cybersecurity, network, cloud, DevSecOps, and governance teams.
• Perform maturity assessments using industry models (e.g., Zero Trust).
• Produce gap analyses and remediation plans aligned with maturity targets.
• Develop project plans with timelines, budgets, and resources.
• Manage risks, issues, dependencies to ensure on-time delivery.
• Provide status updates to leadership and stakeholders.
• Lead cross-functional teams and vendor relationships.
• Draft executive-ready Zero Trust program strategies for CISO audiences.
• Independently design reference architectures and roadmaps without hands-on engineering.
