Job summary

U.S. Bank is seeking a z/OS Systems Programmer with extensive mainframe experience, focusing on installation, tuning, and troubleshooting of z/OS and related software. You will work in a team-based, highly available mainframe environment, leading projects across multiple teams.

You will install, upgrade, and maintain z/OS, CICS, IMS, MQ, and Db2 for z/OS, and contribute to DR planning and recovery exercises. Strong scripting and performance monitoring skills are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in IT.
• 10+ years of experience in design, development and support of technology infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Lead installation, configuration, maintenance, and lifecycle management of IBM z/OS across Sysplex environments.
• Develop, standardize, and execute z/OS upgrade/migration methodologies using SMP/E.
• Troubleshoot complex z/OS system, performance, and infrastructure issues and provide root-cause analysis.
• Administer and support JES2, CICS, IMS, MQ, and Db2 for z/OS.
• Collaborate with storage, security, networking, application development and capacity planning teams.
• Configure IBM and third-party software from Broadcom (CA), BMC, and Compuware.
• Participate in DR planning, testing, and recovery operations.
• Manage mainframe hardware, coupling facilities, storage configurations, and GDPS environments.
• Maintain system documentation and operational procedures.
• Provide 24x7 production support and on-call coverage.
