Job summary

FNTS seeks a Senior Mainframe Engineer to maintain and migrate customer Mainframe environments, focusing on z/OS, CICS, IMS, DB2, MQ and related subsystems. You will participate in migrations, hardware upgrades, backup handling, and optimization projects, while delivering documentation and remote support.

The role requires 10+ years of Mainframe experience, strong TCP/IP and VTAM skills, and independence. Occasional after-hours work is expected; remote work is supported from multiple states.

Qualifications

10+ years of Mainframe experience and SME for mainframe environments.
Proven experience with z/OS and major subsystems (CICS, IMS, DB2, MQ).
Strong networking knowledge including TCP/IP and VTAM.
Experience with tape libraries, DFSMS, SMS, HSM, VSAM, IDCAMS.
Ability to configure LPARs using HMC and manage storage in JBOD/RAID/SAN.
Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

Maintain and support customer Mainframe environments.
Plan migrations via tape save/restore or replication.
Assist with hardware upgrades and configuration.
Collaborate on multi-disciplinary migrations with minimal impact.
Write and maintain system documentation.
Support after-hours and weekend incidents.
Facilitate customer migrations to FNTS or remote management.
Implement new offerings using hardware/software capabilities.
Install OS and major subsystem releases.
