Job summary

West Virginia Department of Human Services is seeking an experienced social worker to advance from direct service into leadership while continuing hands-on casework with youth and families facing complex challenges.

Under general supervision, you will perform advanced Youth Services casework, train and review staff as a lead worker, and travel frequently in a personal vehicle. A valid WV driver’s license and strong communication, documentation, and licensure progress are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Two years of full-time social services/work experience required.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Must obtain licensure as a Social Worker within the required timeframe.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional social services to youth and families.
• Serve as lead worker, mentoring and guiding assigned staff.
• Conduct intakes, assessments, and service referrals.
• Travel extensively using a personal vehicle to serve youth across assigned areas.
