Job summary

Metanoia Youth Leadership Academy (MYLA) is seeking Senior Interns to support youth development and community engagement across Metanoia’s partner network. Interns may work at MYLA sites, the main office, or partner organizations, handling administrative tasks, mentorship, customer service, and hands-on skill-building.

Senior Interns should maintain professionalism, model positive behavior, and collaborate with staff, while Junior Interns report to the Director of Programs.

Qualifications

• Must be in High School.
• Must have completed a Metanoia Youth Leadership Academy job shadowing experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication and the ability to follow instructions.
• Eager to learn and apply classroom management skills and procedures.
• Interest in relating to children and encouraging conversations about classroom lessons.
• Well organized with attention to detail.
• Works cooperatively with program staff and leadership.
• Ability to work in a team and lead when appropriate.
• Willingness to learn and use software utilized for the program such as Zoom and Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Represent Metanoia and demonstrate professionalism with a positive attitude at all internship sites.
• Arrive on time and work well with others at all internship sites.
• Assist with daily tasks at the internship site, including administrative work, customer service, educational support, or creative projects.
• Assist scholars in completing assignments and tasks.
• Monitor scholars participation and behavior.
• Monitor health and safety practices and encourage acceptable behavior at all times.
• Support and maintain the health and safety of MYLA scholars and staff.
• Greet and assist visitors, customers, or clients professionally.
• Complete routine cleaning of the space as assigned.
• Follow Metanoia Youth Leadership Academy’s Rule of Three protocol.
• Guide and support scholars as they move through the building.
• Manage and keep track of supplies and equipment.
• Distribute breakfast and/or lunch under the direction of the Kitchen Manager.
