CAMBA Inc. seeks an Expert Activity Specialist for Beacon Community Centers in Brooklyn. Reports to the Assistant Program Manager and works at 1957 Nostrand Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11210.

Responsibilities include developing lesson plans and guiding youth in academic and nonacademic subjects, with strong emphasis on confidentiality and safety. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent expertise (10+ years) and must obtain health and education fingerprint clearances; flexible for

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) and/or expert in their field (10+ years of experience).
Must obtain Dept. of Health, Dept. of Education fingerprint clearance; doctor’s note certifying good health; TB test; SEL and SCR clearances.

Responsibilities

Research and develop instructional materials and lesson plans.
Provide individual and group instruction in academic and nonacademic subjects.
Create and lead weekly activities and plan an end-of-cycle event.
Collaborate with program staff to plan showcases, performances and inter-program events.
Ensure safety and confidentiality; maintain client progress records and reports.
Communicate effectively with staff, students and parents about program issues.
