Job summary

The Ohio State University seeks a Senior Writer for External Affairs to craft donor-centered funding proposals, cases for support, and impact communications that align with donor interests and university priorities.

You will translate complex academic information into compelling narratives, work with advancement partners, and develop impact and stewardship materials that illustrate how gifts are used to advance strategic priorities.

Qualifications

Requires strong research, writing, and customer service skills.
Superior organizational, collaborative, editorial and interpersonal abilities.
Experience with proposal/persuasive writing and donor relations is preferred.

Responsibilities

Plan, write and edit customized proposals and materials for major gift solicitations.
Develop cases for support, templates, summaries and foundational fundraising content.
Translate complex academic information into clear donor-facing narratives.
Create impact reports, donor updates and gratitude messages to demonstrate outcomes.
Coordinate with leadership, development officers and marketing partners to gather content.
