As a Senior Workface Planner - Civil/Structural, you will drive construction readiness, execution efficiency, and workforce productivity by developing and implementing detailed workface planning strategies for civil and structural construction activities.

Working at the intersection of engineering, procurement, project controls, and construction, you will ensure civil and structural work packages are complete, executable, and aligned with project schedules and field priorities. Your efforts will directly influence project performance, labor productivity, cost effectiveness, safety outcomes, and successful project delivery.

Purpose of the role

At Worley, we are committed to delivering sustainable change by bridging today's energy and resource demands with the transition to a more sustainable future. The Senior Workface Planner - Civil/Structural plays a critical role in this journey by ensuring civil and structural construction work is thoroughly planned, sequenced, and resourced to support safe, efficient, and predictable project execution.

This role is responsible for coordinating engineering deliverables, material availability, construction schedules, and field requirements to develop detailed Installation Work Packages (IWPs) and construction-ready plans. Through proactive planning and stakeholder engagement, you will help maximize labor productivity, reduce execution risk, and support successful project outcomes.

You will be responsible for
  • Developing and implementing civil and structural workface planning strategies that support project execution goals and construction productivity targets.
  • Preparing, reviewing, and maintaining Installation Work Packages (IWPs) and related construction planning documentation.
  • Coordinating engineering, procurement, materials management, construction, and project controls teams to ensure work package readiness.
  • Verifying that drawings, materials, permits, equipment, tools, and supporting documentation are available before work is released to the field.
  • Supporting construction execution by ensuring work packages align with project schedules, milestones, and workforce requirements.
  • Identifying constraints that could impact field execution and collaborating with project teams to develop mitigation and recovery plans.
  • Monitoring project progress and adjusting work plans to address changing priorities, field conditions, and construction requirements.
  • Participating in construction planning meetings, readiness reviews, constructability assessments, and schedule coordination sessions.
  • Supporting productivity improvement initiatives through effective work packaging, sequencing, and resource planning.
  • Providing technical guidance and planning support to field supervisors, construction management, engineering teams, and project stakeholders.
  • Assisting with forecasting labor requirements, material needs, equipment utilization, and construction sequencing activities.
  • Coordinating civil earthworks, foundations, concrete placement, underground utilities, structural steel erection, and related construction activities through detailed work planning.
  • Promoting adherence to health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements throughout construction planning and execution activities.
  • Preparing reports, presentations, planning metrics, and performance updates for project leadership and stakeholders.
  • Collaborating closely with customers, contractors, and internal teams to ensure alignment with project objectives and execution strategies.
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing workface planning processes, systems, and execution effectiveness.
