Job summary

CCMSI in Charlotte, NC is seeking a driven Workers’ Compensation Claim Specialist to own a portfolio of claims, lead investigations, determine compensability, and guide cases toward timely resolution. This role provides an advanced development path for future supervisory or management positions.

The role requires handling complex claims with clients and vendors, reviewing reserves, negotiating settlements, and ensuring compliance with state laws and corporate standards.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of Workers’ Compensation claims handling experience
• Responsiveness to internal and external client needs
• Strong analytical and negotiation abilities
• Knowledge of all lower-level claim position responsibilities
• Adjuster’s license may be required based on jurisdiction

Responsibilities

• Investigate, evaluate and adjust claims per standards and laws
• Establish reserves and provide reserve recommendations
• Review/approve medical, legal, damage estimates and invoices
• Authorize and pay claims per procedures and authority
• Negotiate settlements following standards and state laws
• Supervise outside vendors for designated files
• Maintain diary on claim system
• Assess and monitor subrogation claims
• Compute disability rates per state law
• Coordinate timely communication with clients and claimants
• Provide notices of qualifying claims to excess/reinsurance
• Comply with corporate standards and client instructions
