Job summary

Ryerson is hiring a Sr. Workers’ Compensation Analyst to lead the administration of the company’s workers’ compensation claims program. The role collaborates with EHS, HR, Finance and facility leaders to drive compliance and cost containment.

This hybrid position requires occasional onsite work at Chicago, Downers Grove, IL, or Coon Rapids, MN offices. The ideal candidate has 7+ years of experience, proficiency with claims software, and strong data analysis capabilities.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in workers’ compensation claims analysis or related field.
• Ohio workers’ compensation program experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Excel and claims management systems.
• Ability to manage complex claims and work under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with insurers, adjusters, and internal stakeholders to resolve claims efficiently.
• Review medical reports, legal docs, and claim data to ensure appropriate benefits.
• Identify fraudulent or suspicious claims and ensure proper investigations by TPAs.
• Lead programs like the Transitional Work Program to improve effectiveness and efficiency.
• Advise on workers’ compensation strategy, cost control, and risk reduction initiatives.
• Prepare monthly/quarterly reports with cost analysis and compliance status.
