Job summary

CorVel Corporation in Downers Grove, IL is seeking a Senior Workers' Compensation Claims Specialist to handle complex and high-profile claims, coordinating with case managers and attorneys to secure favorable outcomes.

You will manage subrogation, authorize payments within reserves, and support continual cost containment while maintaining excellent client service and compliance with state regulations. This is a remote role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years’ industry experience and claim handling.
• State certification or license as a claims adjuster.
• Current license or certification in Workers’ Compensation maintained.
• Self-Insured Certificate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receives Workers’ Compensation claims and confirms policy coverage.
• Determines validity and compensability by investigating and filing docs.
• Establishes reserves and authorizes payments within limits.
• Develops action plans with case manager to reduce costs.
• Coordinates early return-to-work efforts with parties.
• Manages subrogation and litigation as applicable.
• Maintains client communication and adheres to guidelines.
