Job summary

Old Republic Commercial Risk in Texas seeks an experienced Claims professional to investigate, evaluate and resolve complex Workers' Compensation claims. You will administer and resolve high‑risk claims with timely outcomes in accordance with statutes, policy provisions and company guidelines.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree or 4+ years in insurance, Texas experience, ability to travel up to 10%, and strong analytical, communication and customer service skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 4+ years in insurance-related work experience.
• TX claims experience is required.
• Experience handling claims in AR, OK, CO, and LA is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promptly investigates all assigned claims with minimal supervision, including complex cases.
• Determines coverage, compensability, and subrogation potential.
• Alerts supervisor to potentially suspect claims.
• Sets reserves with rationale and adjusts them over the life of the claim.
• Negotiates settlements within granted authority.
• Collaborates with PMA nurse professionals on return‑to‑work strategies.
• Travels for business approximately less than 10%.
