Job summary

AvonRisk is seeking a Workers’ Compensation Claims Adjuster III to handle the organization’s most complex, high-exposure claims. You will provide technical guidance, supervise backup support, and serve as a senior resource for clients, carriers, and colleagues.

You will work remotely or in a hybrid arrangement depending on location, collaborating with a team that values judgment, curiosity, and accountability while delivering expert support and leadership.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years WC claims experience with 5 years independent indemnity management.
• Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years indemnity experience at an independent level; or equivalent.
• Active adjuster license in applicable state(s); multi-state preferred.
• CA SIP certificate for CA files; required for CA work.
• Deep knowledge of PD rating, MSA, and multi-party lien resolution.
• Experience directing complex litigation through mediation and trial prep.
• Strong client relationships and leadership capability.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex investigations; determine compensability with plans of action.
• Direct medical management, RTW strategies, and life-care coordination for high-exposure claims.
• Set PD ratings, establish reserves, and justify reserve levels.
• Direct full litigation processes; select defense counsel and prepare for trial.
• Negotiate settlements and manage lien resolution and recovery.
• Provide technical leadership; mentor junior adjusters and ensure quality reviews.
• Maintain proactive, professional communication with all stakeholders.
