Job summary

AvonRisk LLC is seeking a Workers’ Compensation Claims Adjuster II who will independently manage a complex indemnity claim portfolio from intake to resolution. The role emphasizes strong knowledge of California WC statutes, medical management, and proactive subrogation and settlement strategies.

The position is hybrid, requiring three days per week at a designated AvonRisk office, with local commuting distance to office. Candidates must have CA WC experience and an adjuster license.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of CA WC claims adjusting with Bachelor's degree, and ability to independently manage indemnity claims.
• 5+ years of CA WC claims adjusting without Bachelor's degree, independently managing indemnity claims.
• SIP designation preferred but AvonRisk supports licensure.

Responsibilities

• Investigate new losses within 24 hours and assess compensability.
• Direct medical management across the claim lifecycle and return-to-work planning.
• Establish reserves and prepare 90-day status reports.
• Direct defense counsel and manage litigation budgets toward settlement.
• Negotiate settlements and subrogation where applicable.
• Maintain proactive communication with injured workers, employers, carriers, and vendors.
